INVENTOR
Every web page deserves a back side.
Before 2000 I imagined web pages you could flip over, like a card, to read what is written behind them. That idea became BackPage, and BackPage became a United States patent.
US Patent 6,539,406
Method and apparatus to create virtual back space on an electronic document page, or an electronic document element contained therein, and to access, manipulate and transfer information thereon.
The invention gives a web page, or any element on it, a hidden back side where information can be stored, managed and displayed. Visitors reach it by moving or clicking the mouse, or after a set time, and the front and back can be joined permanently or temporarily.
Getting there took modest funds, months of work and a long, very educational journey through the patent process.
